Papers, 1916-1940, (bulk 1916-1926).

The papers consist of manuscripts of Jenkins's musical compositions, printed music of his compositions published at his own press (Anglo-Continental-American Music Press), and one folder of biographical information. Also included are clippings and a program (1940) concerning the concert career of his sister, Mildred Jenkins Haughton, and sheet music (1917-1937 and undated) belonging to her.

Jenkins was a composer and musician. He was born in Charleston, South Carolina in 1894. He studied at the Avery Institute and Morehouse College, and he attended the Royal Academy of Music from 1914 to 1921. He played in jazz bands and dance orchestras.
